Stevie Wright didn’t make the Top 12

Our worst fears are confirmed Stevie Wright has not made to Top 12 for Season 8’s American Idol
This is really a sad day for Stevie Wright fans. Last night the votes came in for Group 1 and Stevie wasn’t one of the 3 to get through. Instead Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace and Michael Sarver have secured positions in the Top 12.
It really is a shame. Stevie is a very talented singer. Stevie Wright still might get a second chance in the Wildcard round, but it is way too early to tell. I just hope the judges reflect on what she can do. I hope they remember that their ‘advice’ helped produce Stevie’s worst performance.
Early in the show Ryan Seacrest had an interview with Stevie where he asked, “last night was kind of tough for you. Especially being 16 in this competition. How are you holding up?”
Stevie replied, “I’m good. I think for me I’m just proud I’ve gotten this far. So whatever happens tonight, it will be good.”
Seacrest went on to ask, “What did you and your Mom talk about after the show last night?”
Stevie answers, “Well I think we were just kind of confused because I started out singing old stuff and they wanted me to be younger, so I tried singing a young song and they didn’t like that either. So now I’m just kind of confused.”
Who wouldn’t be confused by that. Well we are hoping for you Stevie. There is still the Wildcard round, and we all hope you get another chance.
Later on Stevie Wright, Brent Keith Smith, and Anne Marie Boskovich were all told to stand up, and they were all told at the same time that none of them were through to the Top 12.
Keep your head up Stevie.
